Can you give Ellie a
home?
Ellie, a
Labrador Cross, aged about 18months has had a difficult start in
life and been let down badly. She desperately needs a new home where
her owner is committed to her care.
She was found
abandoned at Nutts Cornet although was original rehomed from
the sanctuary. Her new owner was not entirley truthful and unknown
to CLAS had given her away on 2 occasions despite the fact he could
have returned her back to the sanctuary at any time. She is now back at
Crosskennen but finds kennel life very stressful and is keen to find
a special home who won't let her down again.
She needs an
active owner, probably without very small children as she is quite
lively. She loves older children though and is very clean in the
house. She needs structure in her life and will thrive on a regular
routine with plenty of exercise.
Her new owner
must have a secure garden/yard, be able to give her a lot of
time and be committed to her care and training. CLAS will
provide full support including advice and training, and are happy to
care for Ellie during holidays etc.
It is vital that
Ellie's new home is the right one as she is a beautiful,
affectionate dog who loves life and has so much to give. She has
great trust despite what has happened and will undoubtedly make
someone a fantastic friend as she is already a favourite with many
of our volunteers.

Can you give Spot a home?
Spot is a 3 year
old neutered Collie who has been in the sanctuary care for around 8
months and, whilst he has settled while, staff now feel he is ready
to move on to a new home.
He was badly treated in his previous home
and took a long time to recover from his experiences. He has
received basic training at the sanctuary and shows great potential
for agility and obedience work. However it is essential that
his new owners realise that he still has a lot to learn and Spot is
not accustomed to things we take for granted. He needs to be
introduced to new experiences slowly but CLAS staff are confident
that with the right person he will overcome any inital
problems.
He is looking for a home without young
children as he can be quite excitable and ideally would like a home
with an individual or a couple with time to spend with him. A well
fenced garden is essential and he needs to be introduced to house
life slowly so a garage or a good quality kennel might be useful in
the first few weeks, although Spot is clean in his kennel so house
training should be straightforward. He travels well in a car and
enjoys his walks.
Potential owners will be carefully vetted
and would have to consent to liaising with CLAS regarding his future
training. Full support will be given concerning training or with any
problem that may arise. He very much deserves a home of his own with
someone who will recognise what a wonderful and clever dog he is,
giving him the love and attention he needs. With time and care he
will realies his full potential and there is no doubt he will make a
perfect companion for the right person
