THE
FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT FOR BOB!
There is now
hope for Bob's future following his traumatic past.
Bob was rescued
from a fair in the South of Ireland and, at first, couldn't be handled.
He is a big, strong horse and has a specially adapted field and
paddock to fit his needs. Since arriving at the Sanctuary Bob has
come a long way but still has a lot of rehabilitation ahead of him.
He loves lots of attention and is always trying to please people.
Please pledge your help to Bob today and safeguard the future of
our big, friendly giant.
Bob is just
one example of a cruelly neglected animal with a heartbreaking story
of misery and suffering to tell. Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary
(CLAS) started up in response to an inadequate welfare system in
Northern Ireland. Since being granted charitable status is 1996
it has brought equine welfare and education to the fore. CLAS serves
a dual purpose; helping animals in need who, in turn, help people
in need. The Sanctuary is concerned with the rescue and rehabilitation
of animals, in particular horses and ponies, that have been abused
and neglected, although we help many other animals too including
cats, dogs, rabbits and hens. We are committed to securing their
lives, preserving their wellbeing and protecting their futures.
CLAS is Northern
Ireland's only equine charity and is committed to playing an educational
role here. All the animals in our care have been rescued from difficult,
often abusive, situations and through work, respect and compassion
have learned to trust again. We feel that much can be learned from
spending time with these animals; at CLAS the animals are encouraged,
wherever possible, to 'earn their keep' and following a comprehensive
training period many of our horses participate in educational programmes,
working closely with individuals and groups from the community.
The Sanctuary's youth programmes, volunteer schemes and training
clinics are highly regarded.
With our mission
to improve animal welfare gathering ever more momentum, the Sanctuary
is struggling to attain enough funding to keep up-and-running. We
are currently seeking new sponsors whose money will go directly
into the care of the animals. Sponsors are fundamental to the Sanctuary's
survival; regular sponsorship provides us with a dependable source
of income, essential in allowing us to continue our work with these
vulnerable animals.
The Sanctuary
is issuing a province-wide appeal for 500 big-hearted people to
donate just a few pounds each month towards food, bedding, and veterinary
fees for the animals. Our sponsorship scheme allows you to 'adopt'
one of the Sanctuary animals. In return you will get a photograph
of your sponsored animal, a certificate, regular updates via newsletter,
the opportunity to visit and spend time with your sponsored animal
and, most importantly, the satisfaction of knowing you are making
a real and meaningful contribution to improving the animal welfare
situation in Northern Ireland. Please do not assume that we will
get the support from someone else or put it off until tomorrow -
the animals need your help today!
PLEASE phone

for your sponsorship form and make a difference today.
