Why Sponsor?

Sponsors are a lifeline for the animals here and are fundamental to the survival of the Sanctuary. By sponsoring an animal you are providing a dependable source of funding which goes directly towards their care. Your money will give an animal in need the second chance it truly deserves. Please consider making this monthly commitment to help us safeguard the future of many desperately needy animals.

As a sponsor you will receive;

  • A full colour print of our chosen animal
  • A sponsor's certificate
  • Quarterly updates by newsletter
  • Exclusive access to the Sanctuary at our annual Sponsor's Open Day when you can visit your sponsored animal

  Who will you choose?

Teddy
After arriving here at the Sanctuary many years ago, Teddy was found to have various problems, both physical and behavioural. He suffers with a severe sweet itch condition which, left untreated, could cause extremely painful open sores. Intensive treatment throughout the summer months allows Teddy to live a happy and healthy lifestyle at the Sanctuary. Teddy is our loveable rogue and is known for giving volunteers and visitors an affectionate nibble once in a while. Can you please help us look after Teddy the way he deserves?

  Bob
Bob was rescued having been castrated using no anaesthetic! He couldn't be handled and was in bad shape, completely riddled with worms. Bob is a very big, strong horse and has a specially adapted field and paddock to fit his needs. Since his arrival at the Sanctuary Bob has come a long way but still has a lot of rehabilitation ahead of him. He loves lots of attention and is always trying to please people. Will you help our big, friendly giant?

  Hamish
Hamish was brought as a foal from Scotland for a child's Christmas present but had been weaned too suddenly from his mother. He had a highly infectious condition known as Strangles which affects the lymph nodes and was too sick to be sold. Hamish consequently came to the Sanctuary where he works very hard with the community to raise much-needed funds for himself and the other animals. Hamish is a very special pony; many consider him the Sanctuary mascot. Please help us continue to look after Hamish, the Sanctuary's smallest pony.

  Dibley
Dibley was found locked in a derelict shed by a farmer who then tied him to a tractor for six months. He was showing aggressive behaviour and had been clearly traumatised by his ordeal. Although Dibley cannot be re-homed, he lives a happy and settled life here keeping an eye on everyone at the Sanctuary. Dibley is a real character and is famous for his 'two noses'. Will you choose to help Dibley, the guardian of the Sanctuary?

  Sophie
Sophie was abandoned at a local forest with her four litter mates. All of her brothers and sisters had been killed on the road, leaving Sophie very timid and nervous. Since coming here she has become great friends with Banjo, one of the other resident dogs. She is still very shy but seems to have found a soul mate in Banjo who takes good care of her. Sophie is no ordinary dog and we need extraordinary support to help us give her all the love and attention she needs. Please will you pledge your help to Sophie?

  Harry
Harry came to us as an unwanted kitten. It was obvious from the start that he was the most mischievous kitten ever to live at the Sanctuary and soon made a name for himself among the volunteers! Harry developed a rare middle ear condition which badly affected his balance and he had to undergo surgery to have his ear drum and ear canal removed. Happily, he has made a full recovery and can be seen demonstrating his swagger on a daily basis as he assists our volunteers with their ongoing chores. Please consider giving Harry your support today.

  Susie
Susie was found as a kitten on a local farm and was in very poor condition. She loves the company of both people and other cats but unfortunately, despite our best efforts, nobody came forward to offer her a home. Susie has a very playful nature and loves to be the centre of attention - a typical tortoiseshell!! She thinks her life here at the Sanctuary is just purrfect! Will you help us keep it that way for Susie?

  Lola
Lola is a Gold Spangled Hamburg-Bantam cross. Before coming here she was kept in a crate so small that, as she grew, her neck had twisted and become misshapen. Lola made an amazing recovery with the help of some physiotherapy and now lives a very happy existence in our care. Lola may be small in size but she is larger than life in character! She can often be seen feasting on her favourite treat - Snackajacks!! Will you choose to help Lola today?
