Never Give Up Hope!

6 January 2012

Shadow is found after 10 months and a long way from home.

This lovely big black cat was found in Ballygalley near Larne a few months ago.  A kind cat lover in Ballygalley had been giving him food in the hope his owner would be out looking for him in the area.  Little did she know he was many miles from home and had been missing for ten months!  He was then taken to Gleno Veterinary Clinic as a stray and was taken in by the vets in the hope again his owner would come forward.

One of Crosskennans volunteers Heather works closely with Gleno vets on the cat front and advertises as many lost and found cats as possible.  The big cat was placed on Crosskennans website together with facebook pages such as Lost and Found Pets County Antrim, County Antrim Cats 4 U and on Crosskennan facebook page also.

One day Eileen was looking the Crosskennan website at the horses for re-homing and discovered the photo of the lovely big black cat.  She couldn't believe her eyes and just felt so sure it was her Shadow.  Eileen contacted Crosskennan and was directed to Gleno Vets to find out for sure if it was her big man.  She was over the moon when her Shadow was sitting in the vets waiting to be found!

Shadow had gone missing back in February 2011 and travelled from Broughshane to Ballygalley, probably in a van or lorry!

This is one of those stories that certainly bring tears to the eyes of any animal lover.  All at Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary and at Gleno Veterinary Clinic are so very happy that Eileen is reunite with her darling Shadow.  Eileen tells us that it took Shadow only minutes to know he was back to the safety and comfort of his forever home again.  She also says one of the first things she's going to do is get him micro chipped now.  We all hope Shadow and Eileen will never be parted again.

This is shadow feeling at home again!!!!!
